Marjorie (Margie) Moskovitz Kanfer

Margie has been a docent at The Cleveland Museum of Art for eighteen years where she enjoys facilitating public engagement with Art. Prior careers include teaching French, being an Art Agent, and serving on the staff of several non-profits, including the Ohio Ballet and the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, where she was Associate Director of Community Relations during the Soviet Jewry Advocacy era.

A committed lifelong professional volunteer, she’s interviewed Holocaust survivors for Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation, coached Russian Jewish immigrants for their Citizenship test, and she volunteered for four years at a public school for refugees and immigrants in Cleveland, to name a few highlights. She also chaired Temple Mishkan Or’s Judaica Museum committee for five years, working with volunteers and an esteemed collection of over 2500 objects.

A new board member for Lippman Kanfer Foundation for Living Torah, she is excited to be involved with the innovative and vital work of the Foundation as it seeks to enhance Jewish life through a rich understanding of Jewish wisdom.
