Sarah Abella

Sarah believes deeply in leading through relationships and in facilitating meaningful conversations and processes that help teams thrive. 

Sarah has been a leader in schools for over 25 years—teaching elementary education in the Chicago Public Schools, founding and leading 2 schools —Gan Chaverim and KIPP: Youth Village Academy, and serving as a teacher and school administrator at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. She helped guide the school through multiple leadership transitions and the challenges of the pandemic, supporting 700 children and their families through difficult times. Sarah holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and is a graduate of the KIPP Fisher Fellowship at the Haas School of Business as well as the University of Chicago Booth School’s Executive Program for Emerging Leaders. 

Sarah was a founding board member of the Jewish Enrichment Center and Judaism Unbound, and a former executive board member of Congregation Rodfei Zedek. She is a proud Oztmanik and a former Camp Chi camper.
